SYNOPSIS
Khalid, a student of 5th Std
is teased by all the boys of the same class by calling him "Afzal
Khan", Because of this, he is left alone. "Why do the children tease
me by the name of Afzal Khan? Because I am a Muslim? Was every Muslim an enemy
of Shivaji Maharaj like Afzal Khan?”…there are so many questions roaming in
Khalid's mind; with his innocent eyes, he searches for Shivaji Maharaj. Can he
get a Shivaji Maharaj??

This is
a story of an innocent boy Khalid, He becomes a
victim of the system here. When he tries to get out of this system of caste,
religion, gender, creed, race, other differences are also gradually seen by
him. The story is shown to make a change in society, through the child. The
story is trying to purify the evil system that exists in our society

Michael Thevar -Struggle Journey
Michael Thevar is a Tamil-speaking native who came to Mumbai for education in the 1990s. He studied social work and social studies at Nirmala Niketan and Tata Institute of Social Sciences. While studying, he worked in social organizations in the tribal areas of Thane district. During that time, he faced not only financial difficulties but also cultural conflicts.
Successful business and social awareness in America
Michael Thevar is the President of Omni Health Care Services, a leading mental health service company in the United States. His wife, Sushma Thevar is the Vice President of Omni Health Care Services. Thevar is renowned for his social work in the field of community mental health.

Pritam More is a National Award-winning Filmmaker & Visual fine artist
based in Mumbai. He is a two-time National award-winning Artist. He graduated
from Sir J J School of Applied arts Mumbai. He is the winner of 67th National
Film Award for Best Debut Director for his debut short film Khisa (Pocket)
(2020). Also, Winner of 54th National Academy award by Lalit Kala Academy,
Government of India. His debut directed short film "KHISA"(pocket)
has won several top International & National awards including National Film
Awards, Dublin International Film festival Ireland, Indian Panorama for
(IFIFI), 51st International film festival, 7th annual DFW South Asian Film
Festival, Toyota USA. Additionally handed over by the President of India,
National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, India ‘Certificate of Special Mention’
the Prize Award by the NHRC 2021, Filmfare Short Film Awards 2021 etc. He also
directed ‘’Bichauliya”( Middleman)( 2022) Hindi short film based on Saadat
Hasan Manto Story. It's world premiere happened at the "South Asian
Shorts" at USA. It also bagged him Two Awards, Best Director & Best
Actor at 3rd MICFF, Mumbai 2023. Recently its Screening happened at the ''Asian
corner'' at Melbourne. Till date it’s traveling to all the international film
festivals. Khalid Ka Shivaji is his first debut full length Marathi feature
film (2024)

National-award winning Director Raj More & Producer Michael Thevar film
‘’Khalid Ka Shivaji ‘’will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival
2025!
The selection of Khalid Ka Shivaji Marathi feature film directed by
national award-winning filmmaker Raj More has been made for the MARCHÉ
DU FILM section of the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The film has been officially
selected by the Maharashtra Film, Theatre and Cultural Development
Corporation and will be screened at Cannes from 13th May to 24th May, 2025.
Raj Pritam More had earlier directed the short film Khisa (2020) for which he
received the National award and several international awards. Later he also
received the Best Director Award at MICFF 2023 for his short film Bichauliya
(2022) which was based on Sahir Ludhianvi poetry.

Shivaji has been selected for the Cannes Film Festival. The Cannes Film
Festival is the world most prestigious and renowned film festival. This festival
showcases prestigious and carefully selected films. This film will make ripples
at the festival.
Khalid ka Shivaji is a story of a fearless Muslim boy who studies in the 5th
grade. He shyly looks at his hero, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
This Film has been entirely produced in Vidarbha and its filming has taken
place in Akola, Amravati and Nagpur districts. Moreover, local artists from the
Vidarbha region are also a part of this film. There is a large participation of
young artists as well. All these artists will now be introduced to the world.

Several villages in Vidarbha were selected for the shooting of this film –
Amanatpur (Akola), Balapur, Vyala, Ghusar, Girad (Vardha). 95% of the actors
were local and the selection of the remaining actors was also done from
different villages in Vidarbha.

Raj More says, “Khalid ka Shivaji is his first Marathi feature film. I have
worked on this film for 2-3 years. I am extremely grateful to my team & my
producer Michael sir who believe on me. After being selected for the Cannes
Film Festival, the possibility of winning a National Award has begun to
emerge. This joy cannot be expressed in words.” Akola residents have played
a very valuable role in the shooting of the film. Right from permissions
required for filming to co-operation.
